Pad Thai Landscape
Here we see the food, flowers, colors, and shapes of Thailand. In Thailand, color is everywhere, the colors have meanings, from the Royal Family's symbolic colors to every day life. And the food is so good. My son and I cooked Pad Thai together and I photographed the mountain of Pad Thai on my plate. Then, thinking back on my many trips to Thailand, I thought the outline of the food reminded me of the very different horizon line of the hilly, treed, regions of Thailand, and also that the colors of Pad Thai were part of the very colorful canvas of Thailand. This painting won a merit award at the Buffalo Niagara Arts Association Juried Fall Exhibit in 2017.
